On 4 January 2023, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet gave nod to industrial projects worth Rs. 156.1 billion. The information was shared by state industries minister Thangam Thenarasu. These projects belong to sectors including electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, cell manufacturing plant, automobile, wireless technology, oxygen plant and textiles. They will be executed in Krishnagiri, Theni, Pudukottai and suburban Chennai. The development is expected to provide employment opportunities to 8,726 people.
