Maharashtra’s PMRDA to construct ring road between Chakan & Nagar Road after monsoon

Maharashtra’s Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will begin the construction on 32-km stretch of the ring road between Chakan and Nagar Road once the monsoon concludes. The road would connect six national highways (NH) that run through the Pune Metropolitan Area (PMR). These include the Mumbai-Pune (NH-48), Pune-Nashik (NH-60), Pune-Ahmednagar (NH-753F), Pune-Solapur (NH-65), Pune-Saswad-Palkhi Marg (NH-965) and Pune-Bengaluru (NH-965) (NH-48). The ring road will be constructed in stages. The 170-km-long Pune ring road will be an eight-lane express highway with a vehicle speed limit of 120 km per hour. The estimated cost of development has been pegged at Rs. 174.1 billion.
