Assam CM lays foundation of new medical college in Guwahati

On 14 February

On 14 February 2022, the Assam chief minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone of the Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati. The cost of the same has been pegged at Rs.9.9 billion. The new medical college will have two campuses, one at Panbazar and the other at Kalapahar. As part of this, the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at Panbazar & the Kalapahar TB Hospital will be upgraded and made the two sites of the proposed medical college.
