NHAI to construct 1-km-long flyover for elephants in Odisha

Another flyover for elephants proposed between Pallahara and Keonjhar

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to construct a one-kilometer-long flyover to facilitate smooth movement of elephants in Odisha. The first-of-its-kind structure will come up between Rairakhol and Sambalpur. Vehicular traffic will move on the flyover, while elephants will take their traditional path underneath the structure. The information was shared by Ram Prasad Panda, chief general manager, NHAI, Odisha, on 30 November 2021. Another flyover for elephants, which will be 532-metre-long, has been proposed between Pallahara and Keonjhar, as per a media report.
