West Bengal govt to set up two 100-bedded hospitals in Jalpaiguri
Also agrees to increase number of beds at block health centres
The West Bengal government has decided to set up two 100-bedded hospitals in Malbazar and Maynaguri towns of Jalpaiguri. The move will help augment health infrastructure in the district and also in the northern parts of the state as a whole to reduce the workload of the existing state-run hospitals. Besides this, the state government has agreed to increase the number of beds at the block health centres. According to a media report, in each such centre, a 20-bedded facility would be developed.
