Daikin makes the highest investment announcement under PLI scheme for white goods

Daikin Industries made the largest investment announcement under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for the white goods sector. Its Indian arm, Daikin Air-conditioning India, would manufacture compressors, heat exchangers, sheet metal components and plastic moulding components under the PLI scheme at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The project, worth Rs.5.4 billion, will be spread over a land parcel of 75-acres. Amber Enterprises India (Rs.4.6 billion), PG Technoplast (Rs.3.2 billion), Mettube India (Rs.3 billion), Haier Appliances (India) (Rs.1.83 billion), Blue Star Climatech (Rs.1.56 billion), Sysla LED Lights (Rs.1.5 billion), Havells India (Rs.1.12 billion), Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning India (Rs.1 billion), Voltas (Rs.1 billion), IFB Industries (Rs.570 million), Dixon Devices (Rs.510 million) and Panasonic India (Rs.500 million) were also on the approved list.
