RLDA invites bid for redevelopment of Ernakulum Railway Station in Kochi

Cost for station redevelopment estimated at Rs.2.29 billion

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has invited online bids to select a developer for the redevelopment of Ernakulum Railway Station in Kochi. RLDA conducted the online pre-bid meeting on 25 January 2020 where over 15 participants including Kalpataru Group, Anchorage Infrastructure, I Squared Capital, Adani Group, GMR Group, Omaxe Group and others attended. The project involves two components -station component and commercial. The cost for the station redevelopment, which is a mandatory component, is estimated at Rs.2.29 billion. The station redevelopment component is scheduled for completion in three years. The developer will be required to carry out a comprehensive mobility plan within project land after field study to ensure free and un-obstructive movement of various modes of transport and pedestrians. The concession period is 60 years.
