Investment projects worth Rs. 458.4 bln underway in Telangana

The Rs. 458.4 billion investment projects across several sectors, like information technology (IT), automotive, textiles, electronics, life sciences, construction components and food processing, are in the pipeline in Telangana, according to the Industries and Commerce Department’s annual report for 2019-20. These projects are expected to generate nearly 83,000 job opportunities. As per the report, the industrial policy TS-iPass helped the state attract Rs. 1.9 trillion investment and create 1.3 million jobs in the last five years. Besides this, the Sahajanand Medical Technologies (SMT) has laid the foundation for its stent manufacturing facility in the state with Rs. 2.5 billion investment at an eight-hectare campus in the Medical Devices Park, which will produce around 1.2 million stents and two million catheters at full capacity, besides providing 1,500 jobs.
