Centre accelerates land acquisition process for Bilaspur-Leh rail project
The Centre has expedited the land acquisition process and the alignment survey on the proposed Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Kullu Manali-Leh railway line. It is a proposed high-elevation all-weather broad gauge railway track that would connect Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh to Leh in Ladakh. According to The Tribune, the final location survey for the 498-km Bilaspur-Leh rail project will be undertaken at a cost of Rs. 3.4 billion and would be completed by October 2020.
