Centre gives nod for Delhi-Dehradun elevated expressway

Travel time to be cut short by 2.5 hours

The Centre has given a green nod for the construction of an elevated expressway between Dehradun and Delhi. The announcement was made by Uttarakhand Chief Minister (CM) Trivendra Singh Rawat after meeting National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) chairman S S Sandhu, on 24 February 2020. With the completion of the project, the distance between the two cities will come down to 180-km from 250-km. Meanwhile, the travel time will also be cut short from 5 to 2.5 hours. The new national highway (NH), that will pass through Ganeshpur, Mohand, Ashkrodi, Saharanpur, Baghpat and Loni, is expected to become operational in the next three to five years.
