NMDC secure power linkage

To procure 241 MW from grid

NMDC has secured power linkage for its upcoming steel plant at Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh. The company has commissioned the 220 KV GIS (Gas Insulated Switch) main receiving substation. The system will receive power from Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Corporation’s (CSPTCL) substation at Parchanpal, Bastar and distribute it to different units of steel plant by plant power distribution system (PPDS) through overhead cable gallery system. The PPDS is also expected to be in place within the next fortnight. Of the steel plant’s total power requirement of 296 megawatt (MW), the company plans to procure 241 MW from the grid while the balance will be generated in-house.
