Airports at Jalandhar and Tamil Nadu to be operational by March end: AAI
Aims to expand aviation network beyond biggest cities
Airports at Adampur in Jalandhar and Salem in Tamil Nadu is likely to be operational by end of March 2018, according to an official from the Airports Authority of India (AAI). India is currently expanding its aviation network beyond its biggest cities. The AAI is developing airports at 18 smaller and unserved destinations over the past year and seeks to bring commercial flights to at least five more towns over the next few months. Additionally, 12 airports which are put up for bids are in various stages of development and may take more than a year to be ready.
