Maharashtra government provides railways land in Mumbai for bullet train project

Mumbai-Ahmedabad to be India’s first bullet train

On 27 February 2018, the railway minister Piyush Goyal said that the first piece of land at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) was handed over by the Maharashtra government to the High-Speed Rail Corporation for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed rail corridor. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail line, which is commonly referred to as the bullet train, will be India’s first bullet train. The minister stressed on the need for completing the project before the designated deadline.
